Casares is a picture postcard white pueblo with a population of around 3000. Even the approach to Casares is very special and the sight of the village once you round the bends of the drive is something to behold. The white houses are clinging against the hillside and the battlement of the arab castle is visible. Even the drive to the village is special stunning views and many of the area´s best restaurants along the way.
The coast line area of the municipality is called Casares Costa and this is where the more tourist developments are. Still beautiful with low level buildings and a lot of traditional housing designed by Aubrey Davis, a south African architect with impeccable taste for Mediterranean design.
